For general coverage, Wikipedia has an article on units of measurement.

A unit of measurement is a standardized size, amount, or other magnitude, which can be used to measure the same type of quantity. For example, the meter is a unit of length, and the year is a unit of time.

Cyberchase often includes units so that characters can apply mathematical reasoning to their surroundings. Due to this, many measurements have plot relevance.

Most units of measurement in Cyberspace add the optional prefix "cyber-" to the names of real units, despite appearing to have the same scale, relative to characters from Earth[1]. This might be to give Cyberspace the illusion of its own measurement system while still teaching metric and United States customary units. Alternatively, the prefix could relate to time passing at a different rate in Cyberspace than in the real world[2], accounting for a difference in scale when traveling between the universes.
